Jordan Moran Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College basketball player Jordan Moran was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead his team to the title at last weekend's Midwest Conference Tournament.

Moran led all players with 28 points and 14 rebounds in the Foresters' 99-77 victory over Grinnell College in Friday's semifinal round. The guard shot 12-for-17 from the field and added three assists to his stat line for the game. Lake Forest trailed by 10 at the half before outscoring the Pioneers 55-23 in the game's final 20 minutes.

Lake Forest also prevailed 68-64 in Saturday's final against St. Norbert College, the league's regular season champion and the host of the tournament. Moran connected on five of six field goal attempts and finished with 14 points, 7 boards, and a pair of steals.

Moran, who missed several games in November and December and has been limited by injury throughout his senior year, raised his scoring average on the season to 10.6 points per game and his current field goal percentage of 70.4 is the highest in school history.

The Foresters' conference tournament championship was the first in program history and they will be making their first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament this Friday evening at 5:30 against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The regional tourney is being hosted by Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
