Foresters Roll at Knox, Complete 2-0 Weekend on the Road

Sophomore guard Sean Espinosa finished with a game-high 22 points and five assists as Lake Forest prevailed 82-62 at Knox College on Saturday.

Esponosa shot 10-for-16 from the field in the game and his final point of the afternoon was also the 600th of his career.

Freshman guard Tashon Brown and junior guard Aram Arslanian also reached double figures for the Foresters with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Senior forward Danny Sotos and junior guard Sam Husting shared the team lead in rebounds with six apiece.

The Foresters scored the game's first five points and led throughout the contest. They shot 53.3 percent from the field in the first half and a 16-3 run gave them a 21-point lead late in the period, which ended with Lake Forest leading 44-26.

The Prairie Fire closed to within 16 points early in the second half but the visitors eventually extended the lead to 29 on multiple occasions, the last at 80-51 with five minutes to play.

The victory improved the Foresters' overall record to 12-7 and Midwest Conference mark to 8-4. Knox fell to 1-18 overall and 0-12 in the league.

Lake Forest will travel to Ripon College on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the Red Hawks, who are just a game behind the Foresters in the MWC standings.
