The Midwest Conference released the 2017-18 All-MWC Men's Basketball Teams on Thursday and Lake Forest College's Eric Porter was a second team selection.

Porter, a senior guard, is the Foresters' leading scorer and ranks third in the league with 16.7 points per game so far this season. The team's co-captain leads the MWC and ranks eighth in the nation with a program record 97 three-pointers while his .445 three-point field goal percentage is second in the conference and 24th in the country. Porter has scored in double figures in 20 of 25 games on the year and has connected from three-point range at least once in all but one contest.

Despite playing just three seasons at the College, Porter ranks second in program history with 218 career three-pointers, 15 shy of the school record. On February 10 he became the 22nd player in team annals to surpass 1,000 career points and just the 10th to reach the milestone in fewer than four seasons. Porter now ranks 17th in program history with 1,024 career points, fourth with a .414 three-point field goal percentage, and second with a free throw percentage of .848.

Porter is the 34th Forester to earn all-conference honors since Lake Forest joined what is now the MWC in 1974 and the team has now had at least one selection in all but one of those 44 seasons.

Lake Forest finished the 2017-18 regular season 17-8 overall and in fourth place in the conference with a league mark of 13-5. The Foresters will travel to league champion Monmouth College for the four-team MWC Tournament this weekend and take on the hosts in Friday night's 7:00 p.m. semifinal. Friday's winners will face off Saturday afternoon at 3:00 for the tourney title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
