Lake Forest College men's basketball player Danny Sotos was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in a pair of Forester victories.

Sotos, a junior forward, scored a game-high 23 points as his team opened league play with an 84-72 win at Beloit College on Tuesday. He shot 6-for-11 from the floor, 3-for-5 from three-point range, and 8-for-9 from the free throw line while adding four rebounds and a pair of assists on the evening.

Lake Forest prevailed 82-77 at the University of Chicago on Saturday and Sotos was once again the game's leading scorer. He matched his career-high with 29 points while connecting on 11 of 14 shots from the field, including five of six from beyond the arc. Sotos outscored the home team 20-18 by himself during a span of 11-plus minutes in the second half to lead the Foresters to the comeback victory. He also grabbed seven rebounds in the contest.

After an extremely efficient week on offense, Sotos is averaging 19.6 points in five games this season while shooting 65.5 percent from the field, 63.2 percent from long range, and 82.4 percent from the foul line.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information.
