Jim Schick Named First Team All-MWC

Lake Forest College men's basketball player Jim Schick was among the five individuals named First Team All-Midwest Conference on Thursday.

Schick, a senior and the only forward on the league's first team, leads the conference in rebounding for the second straight season with 9.0 rebounds per game. He is also 21st in the MWC in scoring at 11.6 points per contest. Schick has reached double figures in points 16 times and rebounds eight times with a league-leading seven double-doubles. 

Schick now ranks 13th in program history with 1,186 career points and eighth with 779 rebounds over the last four seasons. A Second Team All-MWC selection each of the last two seasons, he is the 10th Forester to earn some level of all-conference recognition in three consecutive seasons since Lake Forest joined the MWC in 1974.

The 2016-17 Foresters are 13-10 overall and finished the regular season 11-7 in league play. Their 79-55 triumph over Lawrence University on Saturday gave Lake Forest back-to-back berths in the four-team MWC Tournament for the first time since 2005. The team will take on league champion and tournament host St. Norbert College in the semifinals Friday night at 7:00 with the final slated for Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
