Freshman forward Danny Sotos scored a game-high 19 points, including the winning basket with 6.9 seconds remaining in the Lake Forest College men's basketball team's 59-58 victory at Knox College on Saturday.

Sotos received a pass just beyond the free throw line, beat his defender to the right, and banked in the layup to complete the Foresters' comeback. Knox led by as many as 14 points in the second half and was ahead by 10 with just six-and-a-half minutes to play. The visitors had cut the deficit to a single point on a jumper by junior forward Jim Schick with 2:30 remaining and pulled to within one again on a basket by junior guard Andrew Toth with 1:55 left. Neither team scored again until the game-winner by Sotos. Knox was able to get a layup attempt at the other end but the ball rimmed out and Schick secured the victory with his 17th rebound of the afternoon.

Sotos shot 9-for-15 from the field and added eight rebounds and a pair of steals in the contest. Sophomore guard Eric Porter, who scored half of the Foresters' final 22 points, was the only other player on the team in double figures with 18 points.

Lake Forest shot just 37.3 percent from the field while the Prairie Fire connected on 40.4 percent of their field goal attempts. The visitors outscored Knox 21-9 from three-point range and had a slight 43-40 edge in rebounds and 15-17 advantage in turnovers.

The Foresters are now 10-8 overall and 8-6 in Midwest Conference play this season. Knox fell to 1-18 overall and 0-14 in the league.

Lake Forest will host league-leading St. Norbert College (18-2, 15-0 MWC) Wednesday evening at 5:30.
