Lake Forest College junior forward Jim Schick posted a triple-double but the Forester men's basketball team was defeated 102-97 by visiting Grinnell College on Saturday.

Schick tied for game-high honors with 22 points and led all players in the contest with 18 rebounds and a dozen assists. He reached double figures in assists for the first time and his rebound total was just one shy of his career-high. Schick shot 9-for-11 from the field on the afternoon and added a blocked shot and a steal to his stat line.

Forester sophomore guard Eric Porter and forward Orlando Brown matched Schick with 22 points apiece. It was a career-high for Brown, who also chipped in with seven reounds.

Lake Forest freshman guard Jordan Moran also posted a career-high in points with 15 and junior guard Andrew Toth reached double figures with 13.

The Foresters shot 66.7 percent from the field and made eight of their 16 attempts from three-point range. Grinnell was 44.2 percent from the floor and 22-for-51 (43.1%) from beyond the arc. The home team had a 38-33 edge in rebounds but committed 19 of the game's 31 turnovers.

Lake Forest jumped out to a 33-13 lead after just 10 minutes of play. The margin was 18 points two-and-a-half minutes later but the Pioneers went on a 21-4 run and trailed by just two (47-45) at halftime.

The visitors took the lead for good on a basket with 16:57 remaining and gradually pulled away. Grinnell eventually led by 21 before the Foresters rallied with a 21-4 run to close the gap to four with 31.9 seconds left. The Pioneers made both free throws with 22.6 seconds to play and one of two with 11.5 ticks on the clock to help secure the victory.

The loss ended the Foresters' winning streak at five games and dropped their overall record to 8-5 and Midwest Conference mark to 6-3. Grinnell is now 7-7 overall and 4-5 in the league.

Lake Forest will host Beloit College Wednesday evening at 5:30.
