Torrey Davis Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College men's basketball player Torrey Davis was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in a pair of Forester victories last week.

Davis, a junior forward, finished with a game-high 26 points in Wednesday night's 63-61 triumph over visiting Beloit College. After scoring seven points in the game's first 20 minutes, he accounted for 19 of the team's 31 points after halftime. Davis was featured down the stretch, scoring the Foresters' final 11 points, including the winning basket with just 0.7 seconds on the clock. Ten of his points came from the free throw line and he also added five rebounds, two assists, and a blocked shot.

Lake Forest hosted an defeated Illinois College 70-53 on Saturday and Davis led the team again with 19 points. He shot 7-for-12 from the field, pulled down a season-high nine rebounds, and chipped in with a pair of assists and a blocked shot.

For the week Davis averaged 22.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and 4-for-7 from three-point range. He is now averaging 12.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest this year.

The victories raised the Foresters' overall record to 6-7 and the team is 5-4 in league play.
