Lake Forest Victory at Knox is Chris Conger's 200th

The Forester men's basketball team posted a convincing 92-67 victory at Knox College Saturday afternoon. The win was the 200th for Lake Forest College head coach Chris Conger.

Senior guard James Stack led the Foresters with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from three-point range. His third three-pointer of the game was also the 100th of his career and he ranks 10th in team history with 103 in his career.

Freshman guard Andrew Toth was next on the team with a career-high 13 points and he was 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Senior guard Jordan Gipson added 12 points while sophomore forward Torrey Davis and freshman forward Jim Schick chippped in with 10 apiece. Schick also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Lake Forest shot 53.1 percent from the field while limiting the Prairie Fire to just 38.5. The visitors also knocked down a season-high 13 three-pointers in 25 attempts (56%), out-rebounded Knox 34-26, and committed just nine turnovers while forcing 16.

Stack made a pair of three-pointers during an 8-0 run to begin the game. Knox came back and tied the score at 12 before Stack struck again from beyond the arc to give the Foresters the lead for good. A 13-1 run late in the opening period extended the Lake Forest lead to 14 points and the score at halftime was 44-32.

The Foresters also scored the first eight points of the second half and a 13-1 run later in the period made it a 30-point game (79-47) with seven minutes to play. The margin grew to as many as 36 a few minutes later.

The victory raised Lake Forest's overall record to 7-13 and the team's Midwest Conference mark to 6-9. Knox fell to 1-18 overall and 0-14 in the league.

The Foresters will host Ripon College Tuesday evening at 5:30.
