Foresters Fall to Nation's Eighth-Ranked Team

The Lake Forest College men's basketball team was defeated 72-52 by visiting St. Norbert College Tuesday evening. The Green Knights entered the week ranked eighth in the country by D3hoops.com.

St. Norbert outscored the home team 17-0 during a six-minute span early in the game and led by as many as 20 points in the first period. The margin was 20 again at 38-18 when the halftime buzzer sounded.

An 25-8 run by the visitors to open the second half put the game out of reach. Lake Forest outscored the Green Knights 18-5 over the final seven-and-a-half minutes of the contest to close back to within 20.

The Foresters shot just 36.4 percent from the field while St. Norbert was at 47.2 percent overall and connected on 10 of 20 three-pointers. The visitors also had a 39-33 edge in rebounds and committed just 11 turnovers to Lake Forest's 14.

Senior guard James Stack and freshman forward Jim Schick led the Foresters with 10 points apiece and senior guard Jordan Gipson finished with four assists.

Lake Forest fell to 6-11 overall and 5-7 in Midwest Conference play. The Green Knights are now 16-1 overall and still undefeated at 12-0 in league games.

The Foresters will host Grinnell College Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
