Lake Forest Struggles at Chicago

The Forester men's basketball team was defeated 99-54 at the University of Chicago Monday night and fell to 1-1 on the season.

Sophomore forward Torrey Davis led the Foresters in scoring with a dozen points and senior guard James Stack was next with nine. Junior forward Tyrone Staggers pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

Lake Forest shot just 31.9 percent from the field and was out-rebounded 39-23. Chicago shot 59 percent from the floor and made 11 of 23 attempts from three-point range.

The Maroons had 10-0 and 17-0 runs in the opening period and led 51-20 at halftime. Three days after overcoming an 18-point deficit in the second half of a victory over Dominican University, the Foresters were unable to close the gap on Monday.

Chicago is also 1-1 on the year.

The Foresters will host Macalester College for Parents Day Saturday afternoon at 4:00.
