Travis Clark Signs with Professional Team in Germany

After becoming one of the most accomplished men's basketball players in Lake Forest College history, recent graduate Travis Clark recently signed a contract with Herzoege Wolfenbuettel of the Pro B division in Germany for the 2012-13 season.

Clark, a post player, helped lead the Foresters to the third Midwest Conference championship in program history in 2011-12. He was named the league's Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Midwest District and Second Team All-American honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He also started in the 2012 Reese's® Division III College All-Star game in March.

Clark averaged a team-high 18 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game as a senior and ranked second on the squad with 3.1 assists per contest. He finished his four years at the College as the program's career leader with a .648 field goal percentage and 101 blocked shots. He also ranks third in program history in career points (1,493), sixth in rebounds (804), and ninth in scoring average (15.9).

"I could not be more excited for Travis and his next step," began Lake Forest College Head Coach Chris Conger. "As coaches, we are always so proud of our athletes when they put in an extraordinary effort and are able to reap the rewards of all the sacrifices they have made. Travis is a great example of this. He has dedicated himself to helping us be the best team we could be in every way possible. In turn this has allowed him this tremendous opportunity to be a professional basketball player. The great thing is I know he will continue to grow and learn, I can't wait to see what he has in store in the future. The Forester basketball family will be cheering him on every step of the way."

At 6'4" (1.98 m), Clark will play forward and center for the Dukes. The Herzoege Wolfenbuettel roster also includes Jack Hanley, a recent graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. The Dukes play in the ProB North division of the Die Junge Liga and their first game is scheduled for October 3.

Wolfenbuettel is a town of more than 50,000 people located in the state of Lower Saxony in Germany.
