Travis Clark Named All-American

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Released their 2011-12 All-American Teams Thursday and Lake Forest College's Travis Clark was a Second Team selection. He is the program's first All-American in more than 50 years.

Clark, a senior post player, joins Tom Lewis as the only All-Americans in team history. Lewis earned Little All-America honors as a sophomore in 1958-59. Clark was also named First Team All-Midwest District by the NABC on Tuesday and the organization also selected him to play in the 2012 Reese's®  Division III College All-Star game, which will be played on Saturday, March 17, at 4:30 p.m. (EST), prior to the NCAA Division III championship game.

At 20-4, the Foresters posted the best record in school history this season and claimed their third Midwest Conference championship and first since 2000. Clark was selected as the league's Player of the Year after leading the league with 9.9 rebounds per game and ranking fourth with 18.0 points, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocked shots per contest.

Clark's .643 field goal percentage ranked second in the nation and his 12 double-doubles was tied for 27th. He was also 28th in the country in rebounding and 81st in scoring.

The three-time First Team All-MWC selection finished his career as the Foresters' career leader with a .648 field goal percentage and 101 blocked shots. He also ranks third in program history with 1,493 career points and sixth with 804 rebounds. Clark also dished out 211 assists and recorded 106 steals in his four years at the College.

The NABC was founded in 1927 and currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches. NABC members are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.
