Lake Forest College men's basketball player Travis Clark
(Evanston, Ill./Evanston) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on
Thursday (January 21) for his performance in a pair of conference
victories the previous weekend (January 15-16).
Clark, a sophomore post player, shot 8-for-11 from the field and
scored 19 points to lead all players in Friday night's 77-56
triumph at Beloit College. He also tied for game-high honors with
eight rebounds and a career-high-tying four assists.
The Foresters prevailed 60-57 in overtime at Lawrence University
and evened their Midwest Conference record for the season at 3-3.
Clark scored a game-high 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for
his seventh double-double of the year. He also added two assists
and a pair of blocked shots in the contest. He helped clinch the
victory by making a pair of free throws with just two seconds
remaining in overtime.
Clark leads the Foresters in scoring (16.5 ppg.), rebounding (8.8
rpg.), blocked shots (18), and steals (15). His league-high .646
field goal percentage ranks 13th in the nation.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic
Department on Thursdays. Clark was also named MWC Performer of the
Week on Monday.
