Lake Forest College men's basketball player Patrick Hanley
(Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield) was named Forester Athlete of the
Week on Thursday (January 7) for his performance in an 82-78 loss
at Grinnell College two days earlier.
Hanley, a senior forward, scored 11 points, dished out 10 assists,
led all players in the game with a career-high 15 rebounds, and
added a pair of steals. By reaching double figures in points,
rebounds, and assists, he recorded the first
“triple-double” in recorded team history.
At halftime Hanley already had nine rebounds and eight assists but
had scored just two points. He grabbed four more rebounds in the
first three minutes of the second half, notched his second assist
of the period and 10th of the game with 5:52 remaining, and scored
his 10th and 11th points of the contest on a layup with just 4:23
left on the clock.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic
Department on Thursdays. Hanley also earned the award once last
season and twice as a sophomore.
