Lake Forest Goes 8-for-9 in Saturday's Semifinals

Member's of the Forester handball team were extremely successful on Saturday at the U.S. Handball Association National Collegiate Championships at the University of Arizona. Seven of the team's eight semifinalists reached the final in their respective singles division and a doubles team advanced as well.

There will be all-Lake Forest finals in two different divisions on the men's side. Senior Collin Peters prevailed 21-18, 21-11 while sophomore Dylan Schmitt won 21-4, 21-13 in the A1 semifinals on Saturday. THey will face each other for the divisional title on Sunday.

The same is true in the B3 bracket, where semifinal victories by freshmen Ray Vo and Seth Jayaprabhu sent both players to Sunday's final.

Sophomore Parker McElroy and junior Josh Levin also posted semifinal triumphs on Saturday to advance to the A3 and B1 finals, respectively. Both players won a set 21-20 en route to the victories with McElroy taking the first by that score and Levin the second.

On the women's side, senior Sarah Moskow took the first set 21-8 and the second 21-12 to reach the A2 Division final while freshman Audrey Peters was defeated in the A1 semifinals. They teamed up for a 21-15, 21-14 victory in A1 Doubles.

All of Sunday's finals begin at 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning.
