Eight players from Lake Forest College competed in the Illinois Handball Association State Doubles Tournament over the weekend.

The Foresters' most successful tandem at the event was made up of sophomore Zach Dybal and junior Mitch Dirnberger. Competing in the Men's A/B Division, they edged out their quarterfinal opponents 21-13, 19-21, 11-6 and semifinal foes 21-7, 19-21, 11-4. The final was extremely close as well, but this time they came out on the wrong side of a 21-18, 21-19 decision.

Senior Collin Peters and sophomore Dylan Schmitt suffered a narrow 21-14, 15-21, 11-7 loss in the opening round of the Men's Open Division while junior Josh Levin and sophomore Parker McElroy were defeated 21-9, 21-11 in the first round of the Men's A/B bracket.

Playing in the Women's Open Division, senior Sarah Moskow and freshman Audrey Peters dropped both of their round robin matches.

The next event on Lake Forest's schedule is the U.S. Handball Association National Collegiate Championships at the University of Arizona. Competition will begin on Wednesday and continue through the weekend.
