Mixed Results for Foresters at Milwaukee Classic

Junior Riley Frisbie won the Women's B Singles title at the Milwaukee Classic over the weekend.

Frisbie rattled off four consecutive victories, including a 21-11, 21-3 triumph in the bracket's championship match.

The player advancing the farthest among the Forester men was junior Devin Peters, who was the runner-up in the A Division. After three straight wins, Peters was finally edged out 21-20, 21-20 in the final. Fellow junior Chandler Straw competed in the same bracket and was defeated by the eventual champion in the quarterfinal round.

Three other Forester men posted one victory apiece before being eliminated. Sophomore Anthony Sullivan advanced past the round of 16 in the Open Division while junior Brandon Sanchez reached the quaterfinals and sophomore Jacob Czarapata the round of 16 in the C/Novice bracket.

The Milwaukee Classic was the final event of 2018 for the Foresters. The next event for half the team will be the Men's Invitational Singles on Saturday, January 12. Lake Forest will be the host with matches being played in the lower level of the Sports and Recreation Center.
