Foresters Capture Three Divisional Titles at IHA Men's & Women's Doubles Tournament

Junior Anthony Collado and senior Matthew Chu claimed the A Division championship and Forester tandems won two more titles at the Illinois Handball Association Women's and Women's Doubles Tournament over the weekend.

Collado and Chu won their round of 16 match in the Open Division but fell in the quarterfinals. They then rattled off three straight victories, including a 21-6, 11-21, 11-3 decision against Forester sophomores Leo Canales and Ricardo Palma in A Division the final.

The Lake Forest men also turned out a champion in the B Division, where senior John Snider and sophomore Max Robrerts won three matches in a row, capped off by a 21-15, 21-14 triumph in the final. Forester sophomores Carter Kounozsky and Jon Vargas also played in the B Division and advanced to the semifinals before falling to the eventual runners-up.

Round robin play was used on the women's side. Five tandems competed in the Open Division with seniors Marina Alessi and Lisa Ledvora went 1-3 in the conpetition.

All three doubles teams in the B Division were Foresters with junior Sophia Goss and sophomore Frankie Corrado defeating freshmen Billie Rodman and Lily Shehadi for the title after both tandems had won their first match.

For Lake Forest it was a final tune-up before the United States Handball Association Collegiate National Championship at the University of Minnesota February 24-28.
