The 2016 season will be the third for Dante Daniels as an assistant coach with the Foresters. He works with the team’s wide receivers. 

Under Daniels, Forester wide receivers combined for 148 receptions, 1,832 yards, and all 19 of the team’s receiving touchdowns in 2015. Lake Forest was one of just two teams in the Midwest Conference to have two receivers rank among the top 10 in the league in receiving and Willie McIntyre was a First Team All-MWC selection.

Daniels began his coaching career at his alma mater, Monmouth College, where he spent a season directing the defensive backs and returners. Daniels played two seasons to finish his collegiate career at Monmouth and helped lead the Scots to the 2005 Midwest Conference championship. The two-time All-MWC selection was also the 2006 MWC Offensive Player of the Year and an All-West Region honoree. As a senior, he was also named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American® and Academic All-MWC.

Daniels’ statistical totals put him all over the Monmouth record books. He ranks fourth in team history with 2,444 rushing yards and seventh with 29 touchdowns. He also posted the program’s second-highest single-season rushing total with 1,557 yards in 2006. Daniels had 11 games in which he ran for at least 100 yards, fourth-most in Monmouth history, and five where he rushed for 200 or more yards, placing him at the top of that list. His 2,649 career all-purpose yards place him sixth all-time in Scot history. In addition to his outstanding football career, Daniels was also a track and field standout, earning All-American honors and helping lead the team to a pair of conference titles (one as a sprinter and one as an assistant coach). 

Daniels is a graduate of nearby Warren Township High School, where he won a state championship in the 200m dash. He was inducted into the Lake County Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

In addition to coaching, Daniels is an implementation manager at Aon Hewitt. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife Malika and their daughter, Tatiyana.
