Craig Kerr joined the Forester coaching staff in the summer of 2009 after two seasons as an assistant at NCAA Division II Wingate University. After directing the team's quarterbacks and coordinating the passing game for two years, he was promoted to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and the 2012 season will be his second in that role.

Under Kerr's direction, the Forester offense set 21 school records in 2011, including marks for points and yards per game. Quarterback Pete Scaffidi shattered the previous records with 238 completions, 2,910 passing yards, and 31 touchdown passes. Wideouts Kevin Davis and Austin Sobey also established new single-season marks with 1,286 receiving yards and 13 touchdown receptions, respectively. Running back Al Mitchell finished fifth in the Midwest Conference with 940 of the team's 1,339 rushing yards.

Lake Forest signal-callers have thrown for 65 touchdowns and more than 6,600 yards over the last three seasons. Forester offensive players have earned seven All-MWC honors in Kerr's two seasons as coordinator and Davis and Scaffidi were named All-American by Beyond College Sports Network in 2011.

Kerr was Wingate's wide receivers coach in 2008 after coaching the Bulldogs' quarterbacks the previous season. Wingate amassed 5,285 passing yards with 54 touchdowns and just 25 interceptions in his two years combined. The team ranked among the top three in the South Atlantic Conference and in the nation’s top 45 in passing each season.

Kerr graduated from the North Carolina-Charlotte in 2006 and earned his Master's degree from Wingate in 2009.
