Not only did Saturday's 36-3 victory at Beloit College keep the Foresters in the Midwest Conference title chase, it was also the team record 81st career win for head coach Jim Catanzaro.

The previous mark of 80 victories was set in 1991 by the legendary Mike Dau '58, who is still an assistant coach with the program.

Catanzaro was hired as the team's defensive coordinator in 2006 and was promoted to head coach three years later. Under his direction, the Foresters have posted an 81-52 overall record and a 61-34 mark in conference play. They captured league titles in 2012 and 2021 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for just the second time in program history last fall.

With one regular season game remaining in Catanzaro's 14th season as head coach, Lake Forest is tied with Monmouth College and Ripon College for first place in the MWC standings at 7-1 in the league.

The Foresters will travel to the University of Chicago this Saturday with an opportunity to claim the first back-to-back conference titles in program history.
