A.J. Jackson Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

Lake Forest College football player A.J. Jackson was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for the fourth time in his career on Tuesday.

Jackson became the first player in Midwest Conference history to catch six touchdown passes in a game on Saturday in the Foresters' victory over Grinnell College. He scored from 16, 47, and 57 yards out in the first eight minutes of the contest and added touchdown receptions of 45, 7, and 5 yards in the second quarter. The junior, who did not play in the second half, finished with a dozen receptions for a school record 275 yards.

Jackson is the third player in program history to reached the end zone six times in a game. Corey Honore was the first when he ran for six scores against Beloit College in 1996 and fellow tailback Joey Valdivia matched that feat against Knox College 20 years later.

The previous program record for touchdown receptions in a game was four and was set by Alex Pasiewicz against Grinnell a week after Valdivia's 6-touchdown performance. The only player in conference history to catch five touchdown passes in a game before Saturday was Carroll University's Kevin Jennings in 2015.

Jackson leads the MWC and is tied for second in the nation with 12 touchdown receptions this season. He also has a league-high 639 receiving yards, despite missing a game earlier in the year. After just 19 career games, he already ranks tied-for-second in team history with 23 touchdown catches and seventh with 1,668 receiving yards.

While Jackson's appearance on the D3football.com Team of the Week is the fourth of his career, it was his first as a wide receiver with the previous three highlighting his accomplishments as a kick returner.
