Lake Forest College football player Dante Esposito was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday for his performance in the team's 42-7 victory at Ripon on Saturday.

Esposito intercepted a pair of Red Hawk passes in the contest, ending drives in the second and fourth quarters. The junior cornerback also recorded two pass breakups and led the Foresters with five tackles in the contest.

Saturday's two-interception performance was the second of the year for Esposito, who is tied for the national lead with 2.0 passes defended per game and six interceptions this season. Lake Forest has now forced 19 turnovers this fall, which is tied for the fourth-highest total in the country.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors.
