A.J. Jackson Named MWC Special Teams Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College football player A.J. Jackson was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday after scoring a pair of punt return touchdowns in Saturday's 48-13 victory at Illinois College.

Jackson caught a third quarter punt at midfield, started right, cut back, and made his way up the left side of the field before hurdling a Blueboy on his way to the end zone. Less than two minutes later he fielded a bouncing football like an infielder with a baseball and took it 65 yards up the right side of the field for the score. He finished the game with 133 yards on three returns.

Jackson became the first Forester and third player in league history to score twice on punt returns in a single game. He now has a conference record six punt return touchdowns in just 17 career games. The junior is averaging 28.3 yards on seven punt returns this season and 24.6 yards per return since coming to the College.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Jackson also earned the award twice during the 2019 season.
