Jackson and McInerney Named D3football.com All-Americans

D3football.com announced its 2019 All-American Teams prior to Friday night's NCAA Division III Championship Game and Lake Forest College's A.J. Jackson and Jordan McInerney were among the honorees.

Jackson was a first team selection as a kick returner after leading the nation with 939 yards on kickoff and punt returns combined. The freshman's 22.5 yards per punt return was also the best mark in the country and he tied for the national lead with three punt return touchdowns. Jackson also averaged 28.8 yards per kickoff return, the seventh-best mark in NCAA Division III. In addition, the wide receiver caught 45 passes for 805 yards and eight scores and his 176.7 all-purpose yards per contest ranked fifth in the nation.

McInerney was named to the second team by D3football.com after earning first team honors from the American Football Coaches Association and second team accolades from the Associated Press. The senior defensive end ranked second in the nation with 14.5 sacks and fourth with 22.0 tackles for loss this season. His 76 tackles overall led the Foresters and he finished his career with a program record 54.5 tackles for loss while his 29.0 sacks rank tied-for-second in team annals.

Both Foresters were First Team All-Midwest Conference selections, Jackson at wide receiver and kick returner and McInerney at defensive end. The latter was also the MWC Defensive Line MVP. They combined to make five appearances on the D3football.com Team of the Week during the season the website also named them First Team All-North Region.

Lake Forest finished the 2019 season with an overall record of 7-3 and a mark of 4-1 in MWC North Division play.
