Jordan McInerney Named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College football player Jordan McInerney was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday after setting multiple school records during Saturday night's 42-14 victory at Lawrence University.

McInerney made a game-high 13 tackles in the contest, including a program record 5.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. In addition, the senior defensive end surpassed the previous team record of 50.0 career tackles for loss set by Louis Bertuca in 2006, reaching 53.5 by the end of the night.

With 14.5 sacks in eight games so far this fall, McInerney is just one shy of the program's single-season record and his 21.0 tackles for loss trail that record by 2.5. He also leads the team and ranks sixth in the conference with 64 tackles overall.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office.
