Second Forester Athlete of the Week Award of the Year for A.J. Jackson

Lake Forest College football player A.J. Jackson was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after surpassing 100 yards in three different categories in the team's 34-27 victory over Ripon College on Saturday.

Jackson returned four punts for a 112 yards, covered 123 yards on three kickoff returns, caught six passes for 118 yards on the afternoon, and added a 6-yard run on the afternoon. The freshman reached the end zone on a 63-yard punt return in the first quarter, an 85-yard kickoff return in the second, and a 28-yard reception to break a 27-27 tie with just 19.7 seconds remaining in the game.

The 359 all-purpose yards Jackson amassed in the contest are the second-highest single-game total in the nation this season and also rank second in program history behind a 397-yard effort by John Klasen in 1994. He currently owns the top punt return average (25.0) in the country and ranks second in yards per kickoff return (34.4), fifth in combined kick return yardage (585), and 10th in all-purpose yards per game (172.0).

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Jackson also earned the award on September 19.
