Danny Baker Named MWC Special Teams Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College football player Danny Baker was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday after blocking a pair of punt in Saturday's 24-7 victory at Macalester College.

Both of Baker's blocks set up touchdowns for the Foresters. The game was scoreless early in the third quarter when Baker deflected a punt from the Scots, which thanks to a couple of bounces traveled 25 yards to the Macalester 47. Three plays later a 43-yard pass play gave the visitors the first score of the game. The Scots were also unable to gain 10 yards on their next drive and Baker once again blocked the punt, this time sending it out of bounds at the Macalester 1-yardline. A quarterback sneak on the next play was successful and Lake Forest led 14-0.

In addition to the punt blocks, Baker also made a pair tackles, including his first career tackle for loss, and broke up a pass during one drive later in the game.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office.
