Six Foresters in 2019 NFF Hampshire Honor Society

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (NFF) recently announced the members of the 2019 NFF Hampshire Honor Society and six players from Lake Forest College were listed.

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or better throughout their college career. An all-time high 1,678 players from a record 430 schools qualified for membership in the society's 13th year.

Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include:

  • Being a starter or a significant contributor in one's last year of eligibility (or a senior who has declared for the NFL Draft) at an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university; 
  • Achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and 
  • Meeting all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.

Four of the Foresters came from the offensive side of the ball. Quarterbacks Jagan Cleary and Zach Wade are finance majors, wide receiver Chase Creviston is majoring in communication, and running back Nick Edlund is a double-major in business and music.

A pair of Forester defensive backs were also honored. Cade Brittain is a neuroscience major while Ben Taylor is majoring in business, as well as sociology and anthropology.

Lake Forest was 6-4 in 2018 and finished second in the Midwest Conference South Division standings with a league record of 4-1.
