Jagan Cleary Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Lake Forest College football player Jagan Cleary was been named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance on Saturday against Illinois College.

Cleary threw for a program record-setting six touchdowns and completed 23 of 32 passes for 272 yards in the final home game of his career. His six touchdown passes surpassed the previous school record of five, which was achieved four times, including twice by Cleary. In addition, the four-year starter's 70 career touchdown passes exceed the next-highest total in team annals by 15. In 38 games, Cleary has thrown for 7,498 yards.

The home team defeated Illinois College 56-27. Lake Forest is now 6-3 overall and finished in second place in the Midwest Conference South Division, winning four of five league games.

The Foresters will finish their season on Saturday at noon on the road against the University of Chicago, which placed second in the MWC North.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Cleary also earned the award once each of the last two seasons.
