Ted Soenksen Promoted to Associate Head Coach

Ted Soenksen Promoted to Associate Head Coach

Lake Forest College Head Football Coach Jim Catanzaro recently announced the promotion of Offensive Coordinator Ted Soenksen to Associate Head Coach.

Soenksen, a 2006 graduate of the College, will enter his sixth season on the staff and 13th coaching at the collegiate level this fall. He has been the team's offensive coordinator for the last three years and the Foresters have re-written the school record books during his tenure. The top two scoring and yardage outputs in school history have been posted in the last two seasons and 29 program records have been set on that side of the ball since he became the coordinator.

Lake Forest has also been extremely successful as a team in Soenksen's time at the College. The Foresters captured a share of the 2002 Midwest Conference title during his freshman season and posted a 28-13 record during his playing career. He returned as offensive line and tight ends coach in 2011 and helped lead the squad to another league championship the following season. After posting back-to-back 8-2 records the last two years, Lake Forest is 59-32 in Soenksen's nine seasons as a player or coach.

"Coach Soenksen has done a tremendous job with the offense as a whole over the last few seasons and in every role he has had in our program since he first came here in 2002," noted Catanzaro. "He is extremely deserving of this promotion and I look forward to our continued success as he takes on even more responsibility as associate head coach."

"I'm very excited for the next step in my coaching career," began Soenksen. "I'm also honored to continue being a part of Forester Football and look forward to helping the program reach an even greater level of success."

Lake Forest will begin the 2018 season against Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, September 1. The Foresters will open MWC play at Knox College on October 6, take on Cornell College for Homecoming on October 13, and celebrate Senior Day and Parents Day on November 3. The team will be on the road for MWC Championship Week November 10 and the league champion will advance to the NCAA Division III Playoffs, which begin the following Saturday.
