Foresters Climb into NCAA Regional Rankings

The NCAA released its updated Division III regional rankings on Wednesday and Lake Forest College was listed ninth in the West Region.

The Foresters prevailed 28-21 at Illinois College last Saturday to improve to 8-1 overall and 4-1 in Midwest Conference play. The team is averaging 475.7 yards and 39.7 points per game so far this season and is on pace to set program records in both categories. The attack on offense is balanced, with both current averages of 229.1 rushing yards and 246.6 passing yards per contest set to rank among the top five marks in school history.

Lake Forest started the season with seven straight victories for the first time since 1938 and, dating back to last year, its 12-game winning streak is the longest in team annals. The Foresters already have eight wins for the fourth time in the last six years and is looking to match the 2002 team's program record of nine. They are set to host the University of Chicago (5-4, 3-2 MWC North) during MWC Championship Week this Saturday at noon. Both teams finished second in the league's divisional standings this season.
