Jagan Cleary Named Forester Athlete of the Week

Football player Jagan Cleary was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance in Lake Forest's 42-21 victory at Carleton College on Saturday.

Cleary, a sophomore quarterback, completed 26 of 35 passes for 387 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the game. The Foresters scored on a 61-yard pass play to senior running back Charlie Quinn and on a 63-yarder to senior wideout Alex Pasiewicz. Cleary's yardage total was the second-highest in program history and his completion percentage (74.3%) and pass efficiency rating (186.02) on the day are the sixth-best marks in team annals.

Through two games this season Cleary has completed 68.8 percent of his passes for 603 yards and five touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception and has improved his career pass efficiency rating to a school record 140.81.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
