Foresters No Longer Undefeated after Falling at Illinois College

The Lake Forest College football team was defeated 55-7 at Illinois College on Saturday and fell to 5-1 overall this season and 4-1 in Midwest Conference play. Sophomore wide receiver George Vidas scored the Foresters' only touchdown on a 7-yard reception early in the fourth quarter.

The visitors were able to gain just 186 yards on the day. Freshman tailback Alex Pasiewicz led Lake Forest with 60 yards rushing on 13 carries and senior wideout Mike Peters matched his career-high with seven receptions but for just 39 yards.

Junior safety Joey Kropp and senior linebacker John Dillon tied for team-high honors with 10 tackles apiece and junior linebacker John Preston added nine. All 10 of Dillon's stops were solos, including a tackle for loss, and he added a pair of pass breakups.

Illinois College reached the end zone on each of its three drives in the opening quarter and on five of six possessions in the first half. The Blueboys also scored touchdowns on their first three drives of the second half.

The Foresters' 7-yard touchdown reception by Vidas from senior Mike Lewis capped off a 13-play, 65-yard drive that finished off the third quarter and began the fourth.

Illinois College is now 5-0 overall this season and 4-0 in league play.

Lake Forest will look to rebound at home next Saturday against Monmouth College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
