Forester Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released the recipients of the 2013-14 Team Academic Awards on Monday and both Lake Forest squads made the list.

To qualify for the award a team's players must post a combined grade point average of at least 3.0. The Forester women's soccer team recorded a 3.32 grade point average during the 2013-14 academic year while the Lake Forest came in at 3.08.

Both teams set program records for Academic All-Midwest Conference honorees with 10 of the 30 men and half of the 24-member women's roster earning the honor.

It was the fourth consecutive year the women made the list.

The NSCAA honored 279 collegiate men's and 579 women's teams this year. Lake Forest was one of 188 schools to have both genders qualify for the award.
