Ashley Wanland joined the Forester Athletic Department in the fall of 2015 as a program assistant and marketing and events coordinator.

Wanland oversees the department's social media efforts and supervises students who contribute in various ways to the marketing of Forester Athletics, including photography, videography, social media communication, print publications, and content on goforesters.com.

Wanland is also involved with many of the Athletic Department events on campus, including alumni gatherings, parents days, FAN Club receptions, and several other activities.

Prior to coming to the College, Wanland served as the Athletic Academic Coordinator and Tutor Coordinator at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. In that capactiy she coordinated the daily academic support for several of the varsity athletic programs and supervised the tutors who provided a portion of that assistance. Communication was in integral part of the position as Wanland was in constant contact with student-athletes as well as their coaches, tutors, and professors.

Wanland was also an assistant in the Office of Academic Services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her alma mater, during the 2013-14 academic year. She had completed her master's degree in athletic administration at Wisconsin in August of 2013 and her bachelor of arts degree in communications in May of 2012.

While a student at Wisconsin, Wanland was a captain of the swimming and diving team, claimed conference titles in multiple events, and was named the Big 10 Freshman of the Year in 2009. Wanland was also a member of the USA National Team from 2008-13 and qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2004, 2008, and 2012 with an appearance in the finals in 2012. In addition to her accomplishments in the pool, Wanland served as a student-athlete mentor and was a member of Wisconsin's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
