Blake Theisen

Blake Theisen joined the Forester athletic staff in 2012 as the Athletic Programming and Intramural Sports Coordinator. Since that time, his duties have expanded to include coordinating the Forester Athletic Network (F.A.N. Club), athletic alumni engagement events, faculty and staff fitness programming on campus, and also helping to manage the webcasting of Forester Athletic contests. He was promoted to the position of associate director of athletics in 2017 and served as interim director of athletics from 2019 to 2021.

Prior to coming to Lake Forest, Theisen earned a masters degree in 2012 in human performance from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. While at St. Cloud State, he served as a strength and conditioning coach and worked with a variety of athletic teams, helping student-athletes reach their peak potential by implementing proper perforamance training and nutrition programs into their daily lives.

Theisen received his bachelor's degree in 2008 in health and fitness and a minor in business management from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. He was a four-year letter winner on the Golden Gustie football team and served as one of four captains his senior season. He was also involved in on-campus service groups, including Relay for Life, Special Olympics, The Polar Bear Plunge, Proclaim, and Pound Pals. 

After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College, he worked as an Exercise Specialist at Best Buy Corporate in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His main duties included corporate health and wellness promotion and teaching group exercise classes. He also provided individual personal training for Best Buy’s corporate employees.

Blake is originally from Cold Spring, Minnesota, and he and his wife Mariah currently reside in nearby Beach Park, Illinois, with their son Caleb and daughter Piper.
