Matt Horgan joined the Lake Forest College Department of Athletics staff in December of 2022 as an operations and facilities assistant.
Prior to his time at Lake Forest, Horgan spent nearly two years as an event manager and then senior event manager at All Community Events in Lake Zurich, Illinois, that plans and conducts running events in the Chicagoland area and across the country. He was responsible for all logistics of events, including rentals, ordering, contractors, insurance, staffing, and more. He was also the hiring manager for all of the organization's interns.
Horgan's experience also includes two stints working in college athletic departments. As a graduate student at Eastern Illinois University, he served as the director of basketball operations, assisting the coaches in every aspect of operating an NCAA Division I basketball team for nearly two years. At the Division III level he spent two additional years at the University of Chicago, where he was first an assistant athletic facilities manager and then an equipment manager.
As an undergraduate student at Eastern Illinois from 2012-16, Horgan majored in kinesiology and sports studies; sport management. He earned his master's degree in kinesiology, sport and recreation; sport administration from the same institution three years later.
Horgan resides in Chicago.
