Ernest Neal
While at Lake Forest, Neal served the athletic department and
generations of students by keeping up equipment, uniforms and
locker rooms. He assisted coaches and players in countless
ways, from preparing the playing fields to catching foul balls for
the baseball team. A former Lake Forest coach described Neal
as "willing to go out of his way to help anyone on the teams ...
always the optimist for an upcoming game or for a new season."
He retired in April, 1972, after 26 years of service.
