Humphrey Mosenge, a native of Cameroon , grew up in Small Soppo,
Buea, and attended Presbyterian High School Kumba, and CCAST
Bambili. He was the Most Valuable Player of his high school soccer
team and captain of his basketball team and also participated in
volleyball.
Mosenge enrolled at Lake Forest in the fall of 1974 and played
soccer each of his three years at the College. He was the leading
scorer and Most Valuable Player of the team both of his first two
seasons and finished his career as the program's all-time leader
with 24 assists. His 60 points in less than three seasons ranked
third in school history when he graduated and 12th at the time of
his induction. The Foresters posted a 25-6-1 record from 1974-76
and captured at least a share of the Midwest Collegiate Athletic
Conference championship each year. The 1975 squad became the first
in the program's history to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Mosenge
earned All-MCAC honors his first two seasons and was named to the
All-Illinois Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of
America his last two.
After graduating from Lake Forest with a degree in chemistry and
biology, Mosenge earned his MBA in finance and management from the
Walter Heller College of Business Administration in Chicago . He
worked in the field of insurance and eventually founded his own
insurance company in Cameroon.
He lists creating and running a company in his homeland and
employing fellow Cameroonians as his greatest lifetime
achievement.
