Stephanie Reinboldt grew up in McHenry, Illinois, and attended Marian Central Catholic High School, where she was a two-time All-Northwest Suburban Catholic Conference volleyball player. The two-year team captain was also the squad’s Most Valuable Player, an Academic All-NSCC honoree, and a member of the Chicago Tribune Scholar Athlete Team her senior year.

Reinboldt entered Lake Forest College in the fall of 1998 and went on to become one of the most accomplished volleyball players in school history. After finishing fourth on the team in kills as a freshman, she led the squad each of the next three years and graduated as the Foresters’ career leader with 1,290. She also ranked second in team history in career hitting percentage (.345) and blocks (272). At the time of her induction, Reinboldt was one of just two players in program history to earn First Team All-Midwest Conference honors four times and she still owned the program record for kills in a season with 445 her senior year. She was also the Foresters’ team captain and Most Valuable Player and the league’s Player of the Year that season. Lake Forest posted an overall record of 81-40 and conference mark of 18-3 during her career and claimed MWC championships in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. The Foresters also appeared in the NCAA Tournament following each of their conference title runs and advanced to the second round in 1999.

Reinboldt was also successful in the classroom and active in the Lake Forest College community. She earned Academic All-MWC honors three times, made the Dean’s List each year, and graduated magna cum laude after double-majoring in business and mathematics. She was a Senior 25 honoree, served on the College’s Athletic Council, and was a member of the Gamma Phi sorority.

After graduating from Lake Forest in 2002, Reinboldt began a successful career in the insurance industry. In addition to her exploits on the volleyball court, she lists completing the marathon in 2008 and having a happy and healthy family to love as her greatest lifetime achievements.
