Nancy Molter grew up in Lake Forest and attended Lake Forest High
School. She earned numerous awards for various equestrian events as
a youth and was considered for Junior Olympics in stadium
jumping.
Molter enrolled at Lake Forest College in 1978. She joined the handball team for the 1980–81 season, the first year of women's handball. As a senior she was a team captain and reached the singles round of 16 at the United States Handball Association National Collegiate championships. Earlier that year she advanced to the finals at Lake Forest 's own tournament.
Her athletic accomplishments reached much greater heights after her collegiate career. She developed into the #1-rated doubles and #2 singles player in the nation and was later the commissioner for women's handball. She also won numerous road races and triathlons and claimed a world relay title as a masters swimmer.
Molter continued her education after graduating from Lake Forest. She received a doctor of science in nutrition and earned the titles Apprentice to Master Practitioner of Neuvo Linguistic Programming and Master Practitioner of Timeline Therapy.
She went on to become a successful motivational consultant and author. Among her works are books, training manuals, and many published motivational articles in various sports and business magazines. She lists those achievements, as well as being invited to join the Olympic pentathlon team, among her greatest lifetime accomplishments.
