Findeisen entered Lake Forest College in the fall of 2000 and pitched in seven games for the softball team the following spring, posting a 1.84 earned run average with 38 strikeouts in as many innings. She was dominant in the circle as a sophomore, tossing a no-hitter in March and eventually setting single-season program records with 19 victories, 20 complete games, 10 shutouts, 156 strikeouts, and a 0.75 earned run average, the 11th-best mark in the nation. She was named All-Midwest Conference South Division for her work during the regular season before tossing a pair of shutouts in the MWC Tournament, which the Foresters won for the first time in 14 years. Findeisen went 6-1 with a 0.85 ERA in the NCAA Tournament and was named to the Regional and National All-Tournament Teams as Lake Forest advanced all the way to the championship game. She was a First Team All-Great Lakes Region selection and became the first player in team history to earn All-American honors with a Third Team selection from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Findeisen was 9-7 with a 1.65 ERA the next season and finished her career 30-17 with a school record 1.20 ERA, 263 strikeouts, and 15 shutouts.

Findeisen graduated from Lake Forest in 2004 with a degree in economics and became a registered financial advisor. She also remained active in the game of softball by giving pitching lessons to girls aspiring to compete at the collegiate level.
