After receiving his undergraduate degree at Western Illinois State
College in 1936 and his Master's degree from the University of
Wisconsin in 1938, Bob came to Lake Forest College in
1942.
In his career at Lake Forest he served a variety of roles and was
an active part of the campus. While acting as Director of
Admissions, President's Assistant, Vice President for
Administration, General Secretary of the College, and finally
Director of Alumni Relations and Development, he was an active
supporter of student-athletes and athletics. He assisted in
many scouting assignments, was an inspirational spectator, and was
always willing to offer advice and friendship, which is the quality
that endears him to alumni and students alike. The
instrumental role Bob played in the creation and development of the
Lake Forest College Athletic Hall of Fame in the early 1970s
attests to his dedication to the College.
In his retirement, Bob has continued to serve as ambassador for
Lake Forest College. He was also a trustee for the village of
Gurnee for six years and a member of the Planning Committee.
Bob served as president of his condominium association.
