Forester Athletes of the Week: Jan. 31

Hannah Turnage of women's hockey and Colin Bella of men's hockey were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

In the Foresters' loss to Adrian University on Friday, Turnage stopped 44 of Adrian's shots on goal, surpassing the 40-save mark for the sixth time this season. The senior goalkeeper went on to stop another 53 of the Bulldog's shots in Lake Forest's overtime win on Saturday, matching the fourth-highest single-game total in team history. Her save percentage on the season improved to .938.

Bella had a season-high four points in the Foresters' game against Lawrence on Saturday. The freshman forward's performance began with an assist on the only goal of the opening period. Midway through the second, Bella capitalized on the powerplay to give Lake Forest a 2-0 lead. Finally, he assisted on another Forseter goal early in the third period, and on the game-winning goal in overtime.

The Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. This is the third time this season that Turnage has been named Forester Athlete of the Week; she also earned the distinction on January 10, 2023 and November 8, 2022. Bella has also been honored once before on November 22, 2022.
