Forester Athletes of the Week: Dec. 6

Senior Helena Blumenau and sophomore Noah McAdam, both from the swimming and diving team, were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Blumenau scored big points during a very competitive Carthage Classic Invite and helped lift the women's swimming and diving team to a first place finish on Saturday. She won the 200-individual medley and the 1650-freestyle and was runner-up in the 200-freestyle. Blumenau added two new entries to the team's history books with her win in the 1650. Her time in the first 1000 of her mile and her final time in the event puts her second all-time in team history in both events. She also made significant contributions to four relays, including the winning 400-medley and 800-freestyle relays. Both relays posted times that rank fifth in team history.

McAdam won the 100-backstroke, was second in the 200-backstroke, and seventh in the 500-freestyle at the same meet. The men's team finished third overall. McAdam posted lifetime bests in all races, and his 100Backstroke and 200Backstroke times now rank fifth on the program's all-time list. He was also a big contributor on four relays, including the third place 200-medley and 800-freestyle relays.

The Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. Blumenau has earned this distinction twice before—once last season on November 09, 2021 and once this season on November 15, 2022. This is the first time McAdam has been named athlete of the week.
