Forester Athletes of the Week: Nov. 22

Freshman forward Colin Bella of men's hockey and senior guard Katie Neher of women's basketball were named Forester Athlete of the Week on Tuesday for their respective performances over the past week.

On Friday night in the Forester's game against Aurora University, Bella helped secure the extra point in the shootout win with a goal in round one. On Saturday, again against Aurora, he had two goals in the third period including the tying goal, and once again helped secure the extra point in the shootout win when he scored first.

Neher averaged 26 points per game as Lake Forest went 1-1 last week. After scoring a game-high 19 points and adding seven rebounds in Tuesday night's 70-60 triumph over MSOE, the senior guard poured in a career-high 33 in a narrow 67-63 loss to Grinnell on Saturday. She shot 22-for-41 from the field in the two games combined, and her stat line on Saturday included a 6-for-12 performance from three-point range.

The Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff on Tuesdays. This is the first time Bella has earned a nomination. Neher won previously on November 16, 2021.
