Gabrielle Krebs of women's golf and Justin Albee of football were named Forester Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Krebs earned First Team All-SLIAC honors by placing sixth at the conference championship tournament, which finished Monday afternoon. After carding an 83 in the opening round, Krebs posted a season-best 76 on Sunday, and a 79 on Monday. Her score of 238 is the best three-day total in team history by eight strokes and led our team to a program record score of 997, which is 70 shots better than the previous mark.
In the Foresters homecoming win 40-7 over Illinois College, Albee recorded five tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss, which matched his career-high. He forced also fumble on one of his 1.5 sacks and Alex Bendler, another senior defensive end, recovered it at the Blueboy 10 to set up the final score of the game.
Krebs has been awarded Forester Athlete of the Week once before one September 6, 2022; this is the first time for Albee.
