Forester Athletes of the Week: Sept. 20

Football's senior quarterback Tre Stewart and women's golf's freshman Alijah Campbell were named Forester Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Stewart helped lead his team in a 48-14 victory of Knox College on Saturday and helped the team extend its winning streak against Midwest Conference opponents to 13 games. The senior signal-caller posted the eighth-highest completion percentage in program history, completed 17 of 22 (77.3%) passes for 187 yards in the contest. Stewart threw touchdown passes of 38, 20, and 12 yards and added a 7-yarder on the ground.

Campbell led her team and the WLC Invitational on Friday, finishing first overall in the 28-player field with a season-best score of 79. Alijah birdied the 332-yard, par-4 third hole and had nine pars, including six in a row on the back nine.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by a vote of athletic department staff. Stewart was named Forester Athlete of the Week once before in his junior year; this is the first time Campbell has been recognized.
